Split PDF options

To select every other page, enter odd (1, 3, 5…) or even (2, 4, 6…). These use file positions, not printed page labels. Use odd; even to create two separate PDFs.

Choose a file to begin. Large documents may take longer.

    How to use Split PDF

    1. Choose one PDF.

    2. Leave groups blank for one file per page, or enter groups such as 1-3; 4-6.

    3. Select “Split PDF” and wait for the ready message.

    4. Select “Download ZIP” below the status message. Open the ZIP archive to access the output files.

Helpful tip: Page selections use positions in the file, starting at 1, rather than printed page labels. Your original file is unchanged.

What to know before you start

Use a semicolon between output files and commas within each group. For example, 1,3; 4-6 creates one PDF containing pages 1 and 3 and another containing pages 4 through 6. Pages not listed are left out of the archive.

    Frequently asked questions

Can I split a PDF without installing software?

Yes. The splitting happens in this browser. The ZIP archive contains regular PDF files you can open using your usual PDF reader.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Files are processed in your browser on your device. There is no account to create and no server upload step.

    Can I use password-protected PDFs?

Password-protected PDFs are not supported. Use an unprotected copy that you are authorized to edit. Editing a digitally signed PDF can invalidate its signature.
