How to convert EML to PDF

  1. Add your .eml files. Click Choose .eml files or drag them onto the box above. You can add many at once.
  2. Check the preview. The first email opens in a preview so you can see how it looks. Click Preview on any other row to switch.
  3. Pick your options. Choose US Letter or A4, and whether you want one PDF per email or a single combined PDF.
  4. Download. Click PDF on a row to save that email, or Download all to save everything as a ZIP or one combined file.

What you get in each PDF

  • The subject as a title, followed by From, To, Cc, Date and the list of attachments.
  • The full message body with links, lists, tables and embedded images.
  • Real text you can search, select and copy, not a screenshot.
  • Page numbers, and a file name that starts with the email’s date (for example 2025-03-14 - Invoice 1042.pdf) so files sort in order.

Two ways to save: which one to use

Download PDF is the fast option. It works in bulk and gives you tidy, searchable files. Marketing emails built with complex layouts are simplified into a single readable column.

Print / Save as PDF (in the preview) keeps the email looking exactly as it does in your inbox and supports every language, because it uses your browser’s own print engine. In the print dialog, set the destination to Save as PDF.

How to get an .eml file from your email app

Gmail

Open the email, click the three-dot More menu next to Reply, and choose Download message. Gmail saves it as an .eml file.

New Outlook for Windows

Open the email, select More actions (…) at the top of the reading pane, choose Save as and pick the eml format.

Apple Mail and Outlook for Mac

Drag the email from your inbox to the desktop or a Finder folder. It is saved as an .eml file.

Thunderbird

Select the email and choose File › Save As › File. Thunderbird saves it in .eml format.

Prefer to use your email app’s own print option for a single message? See our step-by-step guides forGmail, Outlook andiPhone and Mac.

Your privacy

Emails often contain contracts, invoices and personal details, so this tool never uploads them. Everything happens inside this browser tab, and the files disappear when you close it. Remote images are blocked unless you turn them on, so the sender can’t tell you opened the message. Read the privacy policy for details.

Have Outlook .msg files?

This converter reads Outlook .msg files too, so you can mix both formats in one batch. There is also a dedicatedMSG to PDF page with Outlook-specific tips.

Frequently asked questions

Are my emails uploaded to a server?

No. The converter runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your .eml files are read and turned into PDFs on your own device, and nothing is sent to us or anyone else.

Can I convert many EML files at once?

Yes. Select or drop as many .eml files as you like. Choose “One PDF per email” to get a ZIP file with a PDF for each message, or “Combine into one PDF” to get a single PDF with every email starting on a new page, sorted oldest first.

Are attachments included in the PDF?

The PDF lists every attachment by file name and size under the email header. The attachment files themselves are not merged into the PDF, but you can download each one separately from the file list.

Why do some images not appear in the PDF?

Images embedded in the email are always included. Images hosted on remote servers are blocked by default, because loading them can tell the sender that you opened the message. Tick “Load remote images” to include them. Some servers still refuse to share images with other websites, so a few may stay missing.

What is the difference between “Download PDF” and “Print / Save as PDF”?

“Download PDF” builds a clean, searchable PDF instantly and works in bulk. It simplifies complex newsletter layouts so they read well on paper. “Print / Save as PDF” uses your browser’s print engine to keep the email’s exact look and supports every language, but it handles one email at a time.

Does it work with Chinese, Japanese, Arabic or other non-Latin emails?

Yes, through “Print / Save as PDF”, which uses your system fonts. The instant “Download PDF” option currently supports Latin, Greek and Cyrillic text; the tool warns you when an email needs the print option.

Can I convert Outlook .msg files?

Yes. Drop .msg files into the same converter, or use the MSG to PDF page. You can even mix .eml and .msg files in one batch.
